On August 26, Brother Ken Hildahl passed away. Brother Hildahl began his career with the Manitoba Government and General Employees Union in 1982 as a staff representative and from 1989 to 2002 was the Director of Operations for the union.
Having held numerous positions as an activist within the MGEU, Brother Hildahl touched the lives of so many. He spent many years on the Manitoba Federation of Labour Executive Board where Ken’s commitment and dedication benefited workers and their families in Manitoba.
A truly generous and caring person, Ken gave his time and support to his community working with charities, non-profits and other organizations to make our community a better place to live.
Brother Hildahl was appointed president and CEO of the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission in 2009. He served as Executive Vice-President of Manitoba Blue Cross and served on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Board for 10 years of which he spent five as chair of the Board.
